The Cuckoo's Calling

The Cuckoo's Calling - Robert Galbraith Yes. I read this because I heard it was j.k. Rowling. I thought maybe this would be the perfect intro into a genre that I have not really ventured into, but I have to admit, I found it a little dull. Most of the book was just conversations with very little action. I liked the main characters and wanted to find out what would happen to them but I was bewildered by the minor characters and had a hard time keeping them straight. The long build up and climax all felt like "info dumps" instead of action. Maybe this is what detective fiction is like, and if so, I'll stick to sci fi, or the Dresden files, or Harry Potter
